Take Part in Teesdale

“We have seen at first hand the very real benefits of creative social prescribing – working with professional creative practitioners to deliver supported free sessions for a whole range of people living with loneliness, anxiety, depression or other mental health issues.”

— Northern Heartlands

I’ve partnered up with Northern Heartlands on Take pART in Teesdale. A very exciting project to provide a series of workshops as part of a social prescribing initiative.

My sessions will challenge what people perceive to be ‘good drawing,’ while providing the well-being benefits of nature and art combined. I aim to encourage individual expression, ability, confidence and identity through the participants practice.

Session 1 of 5 we will explore the basics of drawing with some fun mark-making and experimental drawing techniques, it will be focused on how we observe and make marks, a fun light hearted session with the aim to find your own style.

Sessions are catered so that any of the five can be attended. Themes will be person led and centred around home, County Durham; the natural environment and identity.

To find out more please visit Northern Heartlands.

Thanks

  • Google Calendar ICS

Drop in and take part in a free, fun art activity with me at National Meadows Day hosted by The North Pennines National Landscape on Saturday 13 July, 10am to 3pm, at Low Way Farm, Holwick.

We will be exploring native plants to Teesdale, using traditional printing techniques to create a piece of art for you to take home.

“The North Pennines National Landscape contains almost half of the remaining species-rich upland hay meadows in the UK. As well as being a rare and important habitat for wildflowers, upland hay meadows also support a whole range of invertebrates and birds."
